Buffalo Racing Festival This buffalo racing festival which is one of the oldest traditional festivals of Chonburi Province is held annually in October. It started from the gathering of people from various localities riding their buffalo-pulled carts carrying goods to stop over at Ban Tha Kwian in the city of Chonburi. To pass the time during waiting, they took their baffalos to race for fun. This activity finally turned to be a tradition held in October of every year. Apart from the people of Muang District who observe this tradition, people of Ban Bueng District and of Non Yai District also hold this festival in proximate time. On a racing day, farmers will decorate their baffalos with different colored robes for a competition and take them to the frontage of the District Office.
